Pakistan's IT sector achieved a remarkable milestone with exports surging to a record $3.2 billion in fiscal year 2023-24, marking a 24.2% year-on-year increase.
Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima attributed this growth to Prime Minister Shabaz Sharif's vision and government initiatives aimed at enhancing IT exports and ease of doing business.
The ICT sector accounted for 41.29% of total service exports, with significant contributions from 'Other Business Services'.
Despite a trade deficit in services reaching $2.3 billion for FY24, efforts continue to bolster Pakistan's IT industry under the guidance of key stakeholders.
