My brother is recovering from Covid and he got pneumonia and was treated with antibiotics and other meds. Probably saved his life!

antibiotics are and should be used to TREAT infections, not to PREVENT them. The prophylactic use of antibiotics is dangerous and limited to a very select few indications.
I don't want to convince people this is my idea of prescribing antibiotic..do what u feel good for Ur patient..this is what I believe clinically benefits people and I wonder why some people are against its use in a disease in which we don't HV any specific treatment ..little research is done is this regard so far...so it's better to prescribe it until a definite treatment comes

The azithromycin was given to prevent secondary bacterial infection that could cause pneumonia resulting to death if not prevented at the initial presentation.

family was prescribed antibiotics and steroids and was fine after. Actually helped them kick it fast

sometimes in life, not everything said is the solution. Antibiotics and steroids work and I thank God for people who walk the path of faith in all that they do.

.. because with Covid, you can have a secundary problem cause by bacteria, then they prescribe antibiotics.

it is believed that azithromycin has anti-inflammatory effects in Covid lung ...

Azithromycin has shown antiviral properties as well unlike other antibiotics. It’s not really understood how though.

first, we need to stop calling it covid. covid isn't a virus. its the symptoms or disease that results from the virus. The virus is called SARS-Cov-2
viruses are not living things. They don't perform any of the life functions associated with living things. Viruses are packets of genetic material in the form of RNA or DNA that infects cells directly by injecting the genetic material into the cell and turning the cell into a factory to make more of the virus.
antibiotics work by disrupting one or more of the life functions of living pathogens. Viruses don't eat, sleep, drink, breathe, grow or expel waste. So therefore there are no life functions on which the antibiotic to act on. So that's why they won't work with viruses.

can blame the doctors, since the medical error is the third leading cause of death in the United States. Maybe if all these people who demand antibiotics for the common cold would end up with C diff one time they might quit pitching a tantrum for antibiotics.
