Serene Air, a privately-owned Pakistani airline, has recently announced its plans to initiate two weekly flights from Karachi to Beijing via Islamabad starting from November 18, 2023. These flights, under the designation KHI-ISB-PKX, will land at Daxing International Airport, one of Beijing's two international airports, with the other being Beijing Capital International Airport. This new direct flight service aims to offer more cost-effective travel options for both Pakistani and Chinese travelers, encompassing business professionals, students, and individuals involved in various projects related to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan.
Serene Air, initially operating only domestic flights since 2017, expanded its operations internationally in January 2021, commencing its first international flights to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The airline has received approval from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority to pursue further international expansion. In accordance with Pakistani regulations, airlines are required to operate domestically for a minimum of one year before venturing into foreign markets.
